Education
I am a proud graduate of Utica High School Class of 2007. My college career began at Macomb Community College. While at Macomb I was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. After spending two years at MCC I transferred to Central Michigan University to pursue a teaching degree. I have a double major in history and social studies for secondary education (grades 8-12). While at CMU I was president of the university's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, a National History Honors Society. I will be graduating and obtaining my state of Michigan teaching certification in December 2013.

Hobbies and Interests
I grew up hearing my Grandfather tell stories about his time in the Navy during WWII. As a result I've always had a strong interest in military history. I currently volunteer at the Yankee Air Museum and Michigan Military Technical and Historical Society. I work with their historical displays and the public events that each organization puts on. I also collect military memorabilia and participate in military reenactments and living history displays. My time as a living historian and reenactor has been very fulfilling. This "hands on" type of history is great way to educate and inform people about the sacrifices of our fighting men and women.
I have also grown up being involved in motorsports. During the summer months my father and I drag race at a variety of tracks around the state and mid-west. We campaign a 1972 Chevrolet Nova and a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro. The competition and the history of the sport truly make it a great experience for us.
